How to Identify a Fake Lottery Ticket

With the popularity of the Nagaland State Lottery, counterfeit tickets are becoming a serious issue. Before you buy, ensure your ticket is genuine by checking these security features.

1. The Barcode Scan

Every official ticket comes with a unique barcode. You can use a standard QR/Barcode scanner app on your phone. A genuine ticket will reveal a code that matches the ticket number printed on the front.

2. The "High Relief" Print

Run your finger over the "Nagaland State Lotteries" logo. Official tickets use a special printing process where the ink feels slightly raised (embossed) and not perfectly flat.

3. The Watermark Test

Hold the ticket up to a bright light. You should see a subtle watermark of the state emblem or the lottery logo embedded in the paper fibers. Fake tickets are often printed on plain white paper.

4. Paper Quality

Official lottery tickets are printed on Thermal Paper (similar to an ATM receipt or bus ticket). If the paper feels like standard A4 printer paper or is too thick/cardboard-like, it is likely a fake.

5. Verify the Seller

Only purchase from authorized agents who have a valid agency license number displayed in their shop. Never buy tickets from strangers on social media or WhatsApp.
